Moet is what Fillies Form drinks for breakfast. Yes, that’s how we roll.
And if Mr Moet can win the Caufield Cup in 2013, we may be drinking the Holy Water for lunch and dinner too.
Trained by Adam Durrant out of Perth, Mr Moet has emerged as one of WA’s best gallopers.
A consistent winner in his home town, Mr Moet won the Group 1 Railway Stakes and the Group 2 CB Cox Stakes, before trying his luck at an Autumn campaign in Melbourne. Mr Moet showed he could match it with the big boys, producing stand out performances and proving he is a solid Weight for Age competitor.
The 6 year old gelding has commenced his spring campaign in Melbourne, with the main focus being the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
Mr Moet has performed well since returning for the Spring Carnival with a ninth place finish in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on September 7 but is still chasing his first win since his victory in the 2012 Group 2 Cox Stakes (2400m) in Perth.
The Mosayter gelding had no luck in either the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield or the Group 3 JRA Cup (2040m) at Moonee Valley, but Durant is hopeful that will change on Saturday.
Durant confirmed that Mr Moet isn’t going around to make up the numbers in the Caulfield Cup, and is confident he can produce a top 6 finish. At his current price Fillies Form is more than happy to back this honest performer (Each Way) and who knows, he may just be the roughie of the Spring Carnival.
Fillies Form will be including Mr Moet in our quaddie selections
