What is a Quinella?
A Quinella is not a beach side suburb in the Shire.
A Quinella bet is when you select 2 horses to run 1st and 2nd in any order. But you are not limited to selecting just 2 horses.
The cost of a quinella depends on how many selections are included to fill the first 2 places.
What is an Exacta?
An Exacta bet is when you try and pick 1st and 2nd in order. You can have multiple horses selected to run 1st or 2nd but this will cost your more. The difference between an Exacta and a Quinella is that they must finish in the order you selected, which makes it more difficult but the dividend is greater. If you choose one runner to win this is called a Standout.
What is a Duet?
Sounds sensual and the dividend’s can get the heart thumping.
Firstly Duet’s are only available in races where there are 8 or more runner’s. This bet type requires the punter to correctly select 2 of the 3 placegetters in any order. The key to this bet type is that it will pay three dividends for the following combinations: 1st and 2nd, 1st and 3rd, and 2nd and 3rd.
